Planning Your Hiddur Mitzvah Project

Step 1: Talk to Us!

If you are interested in running a Hiddur Mitzvah Project, we can help! We'll be happy to supply you with additional materials and ideas.

Step 2: Establish a Goal

What do you want to accomplish with your Hiddur Mitzvah Project? Tzedukah? Community service? Jewish education? Fundraising? To view some ideas, click here. It's important to establish a goal early in planning--it will give your project direction, and help to motivate you and your participants.

Step 3: Choose a Community

Identifying your participants helps to narrow down the list of possible projects. A group of children might not have the same interests as a group of seniors, but bringing them together with an intergenerational project might be fabulous! Consider possible groups such as: preschool students, Hebrew school students, teens, youth groups, families, seniors, congregations, sisterhoods, men's clubs, or any combination! If you are interested in a Hiddur Mitzvah Project that involves preschool students, please see our special Mezuzah for Life Paper Project, planned specifically for children 5 years and younger.

Step 4: Choose a Product
